President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of ten executive heads across key agencies within the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.
The appointments are aimed at bolstering the efficiency and impact of Nigeria’s digital economy.
Announcing the appointments, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, highlighted the strategic restructuring titled, ‘President Tinubu reconstitutes management teams in agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.’
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) sees Abraham Oshadami appointed as Executive Commissioner of Technical Services, Rimini Makama as Executive Commissioner of Stakeholder Management, and Opeyemi Dele-Ajayi as President and CEO of the Digital Bridge Institute.
Meanwhile, at the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT), Abiodun Attah takes on the role of Executive Director of Technical Services, Aisha Abdullahi as Executive Director of Finance & Administration, and Jaiyeola Awokoya as Executive Director of Marketing & Business Development.
Additionally, Ibrahim Adeyanju assumes the position of Managing Director/CEO of Galaxy Backbone Limited, with Mohammed Ibrahim as Executive Director of Finance & Corporate Services, Olusegun Olulade as Executive Director of Customer Centricity & Marketing, and Olumbe Akinkugbe as Executive Director of Digital Exploration & Technical Services.
Ngelale emphasized President Tinubu’s expectation for the newly appointed heads to “deliver excellent service to elevate the impact of the digital economy sector on the socio-economic development of the nation.”
These appointments signify a strategic effort by the government to strengthen the leadership within these crucial agencies, signalling a commitment to advancing Nigeria’s digital landscape for enhanced socio-economic growth.
