In a recent development, twelve personnel of the Nigerian Army are currently facing a court martial about the tragic bombing incident that occurred in Tudun Biri, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

This incident, which took place on December 3, 2023, resulted in the mistaken killing of 85 civilians during military drone attacks.

The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, disclosed this information during a briefing with journalists in Abuja. He stated that following a thorough investigation into the matter, the military has resolved to take disciplinary action against those found culpable.

Mr Buba emphasized the military’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victims, affirming that the personnel involved in the incident will be held accountable for any acts of omission or commission.

He further noted that while he is unable to provide extensive details due to the ongoing court-martial proceedings, the military is determined to prevent such tragedies in the future by implementing extra precautions to safeguard noncombatants.

This development underscores the military’s efforts to address accountability and transparency within its ranks, as it strives to uphold the safety and well-being of civilians in conflict zones.
