The Nigerian Army, 6 Division, has conducted a free medical outreach in Edoha community, Ahoada East Local Government Area, Rivers State, as part of activities to mark the 2024 Nigerian Army Day celebration.

Major General Jamal Abdulsalam, General Officer Commanding 6 Division, assured residents of the state that the Army would continue to provide security against criminal activities.

The event, held in conjunction with the Nigerian Army Officers Wives’ Association, provided medical services to over 800 beneficiaries, including eye care, treatment, and drugs for common diseases.

Rivers State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Oreh, commended the Nigerian Army for its commitment to safeguarding lives and offering medical services in the community.

The monarch of Upata kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Felix Otuwarikpo, thanked the Army for the initiative, describing it as a welcome development.

Beneficiaries, including Mrs. Unity Godday, expressed gratitude for the gesture, which aimed to foster civil-military cooperation and cement the existing synergy between the Army and its host communities.
