Abuja, Nigeria – The Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has officially announced the commencement of its 2024/2025 Undergraduate Scholarship Award, inviting applications from first-year students enrolled in Nigerian universities.

The program, part of company’s commitment to education and human capital development, aims to empower exceptional students with financial support to enhance their academic performance and contribute to national progress.

Scholarship Details

The NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship offers an annual award of N300,000 to selected recipients. In line with its inclusive approach, NLNG encourages applications from eligible candidates across Nigeria, including Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs) and students from host communities.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

General Eligibility:

  • Be a citizen of Nigeria currently residing in the country.
  • Be a full-time first-year student in the 2024/2025 academic session at a Nigerian federal or state-owned university.
  • Possess a minimum of five O-Level credits, including Mathematics and English, in one sitting (WASC, SSCE, or NECO).
  • Be between 18 and 25 years old at the time of application.
  • Not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship, bursary, or grant.
  • Not be a direct relative of NLNG staff.


Additional Criteria for Host Community Applicants:

Must be an indigene of an NLNG host community and provide identification from the local government or host community leaders.


Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • A completed application form.
  • Passport photograph (450px by 450px, white background, not older than three months).
  • O-Level and UTME results.
  • University and JAMB admission letters.
  • University student ID card.
  • Birth certificate issued by the National Population Commission.
  • Local Government Area identification letter.
  • National Identification Number (NIN) slip.


For host community applicants, additional documents include:

  • Local Government identification letter.
  • Community identification letter signed by a CDC chairman or paramount ruler.
  • Complete academic transcripts from 100 level, signed and stamped by the university registry or exams unit.

Eligible candidates are to apply via the dedicated scholarship portal at https://candidate.scholastica.ng/schemes/nlngugssn.

Key steps include:

  • Create an account using a valid email address and mobile number.
  • Activate the account through a confirmation email.
  • Log in to provide personal, educational, and other required information.
  • Upload scanned copies of all required documents.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in names across all documents.
  • Review and submit the application.
  • Applicants will receive a confirmation email upon successful submission.

Application Deadline

The deadline for submissions is December 2, 2024. Interested students are advised to apply promptly to avoid missing this opportunity.
