As Nigerians mourn the death of popular Nollywood actor, John Okafor, aka Mr. Ibu, details of what led to his death have emerged.
REPORT AFRIQUE learnt that the late actor suffered a heart attack while he was undergoing a third surgery at Evercare Hospital at Admiralty Way, Lekki, In Lagos state and passed on Saturday evening.
This was made known by the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Mr. Emeka Rollas. The story was also corroborated by VeryDarkMan, a popular social media influencer who keeps close ties with some of the Okafor’s family member.
In a post on his Facebook page, Mr. Rollas mourned Ibu citing that he had suffered cardiac arrest before passing on at the hospital. He mentioned that he had been made aware of the actor’s death by the actor’s manager who had worked with Ibu for the past 24 years.
News of the actor’s death was first leaked by a staff of Evercare hospital who had confided in a friend. Details of their chats were later posted on the microblogging platform, X.
