Obi Cubana also shed light on the extravagant burial ceremony he organized for his late mother in 2021. He explained that his family has a history of not living beyond the age of 80, with his father, grandfather, and uncle all passing away before reaching that milestone.
Lagos, Nigeria – Nigerian socialite and businessman, Obi Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has addressed allegations that he used his wife for money rituals after she developed a mysterious illness.
Speaking in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Obi Cubana revealed that his wife fell ill shortly after giving birth on Valentine’s Day. Despite the severity of her condition, she remained optimistic, telling him that she would recover and care for their newborn.
Recalling the ordeal, Obi Cubana said, “Someone called me and said they heard I had used my wife for juju, and it was from a friend. My wife’s condition was severe, and a professor even told me she might never walk again or have more children. That night, I cried, but my wife reassured me, saying, ‘I will walk again and raise our baby.’”
In the interview, he also shed light on the extravagant burial ceremony he organized for his late mother in 2021. He explained that his family has a history of not living beyond the age of 80, with his father, grandfather, and uncle all passing away before reaching that milestone.
“In my family, no one has lived up to 80. My father died at 66, my uncle at 75, and my grandfather at 78. I told my mother that she would break this trend,” he said.
Despite his hopes, his mother passed away at 78, just shy of the 80-year mark. He had promised her that her burial would be a grand affair, and he had been saving for it long before her death.
