Port Harcourt, Nigeria — The Action Peoples Party (APP) has emerged victorious in the Rivers State Local Government election, securing 22 out of the 23 chairmanship positions announced so far.
The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) officially released the election results on Saturday, with Chief Election Officer Justice Adolphus Enebeli making the announcement in Port Harcourt.
Enebeli stated that the announcement for Etche Local Government Area has been suspended due to ongoing collation of results. He added that the final outcome for Etche, along with results for the 319 councillorship seats across the state, would be announced at a later date.
