The Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt has overturned the dissolution of the Emeka Beke-led executive of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State.
The court, under the leadership of Justice Sika Aprioku, ruled that the APC National Working Committee (NWC) acted beyond its authority by disbanding an elected state executive and establishing a caretaker committee.
Justice Aprioku emphasized that the NWC lacked the power to dissolve the elected executive while its tenure was still in effect. As a result, the court has annulled the caretaker committee led by Chief Tony Okocha and reinstated the Emeka Beke-led executive.
Additionally, Justice Aprioku has prohibited Tony Okocha and members of the caretaker committee from continuing to hold themselves out as APC executives in Rivers State.
