Tinubu’s Sole Administrator Appoints Caretaker Administrators for 23 LGAs in Rivers

Port Harcourt, Nigeria — The Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral (Rtd) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas CFR, has approved the appointment of interim Administrators to oversee the 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) across the state.

This development follows a directive from the Rivers State Government aimed at ensuring continuity in local governance, pending further political decisions regarding local government elections.

The appointments, which officially took effect on Monday, April 7, 2025, were made known through a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika. The statement also disclosed that several state-owned boards, agencies, commissions, and parastatals earlier placed on hold have now been reconstituted.
