One of the leading aspirants for the office of the president for 2023 elections uder the APC, Moses Ayom, has withrawn from the race.
Mr. Ayom, the CEO of Granite and Marble Limited and a major voice in the agitation for a presidency of the middle belt extraction, said he decided to withdraw from the race after the APC failed to zone the presidency to his region.
Ayom announced his withdrawal while breaking fast with members of the Interfaith Clerics Council of Nigeria at the event centre he donated to the APC and named “APC First arena” in Abuja. “On the basis of all these, I wish to state without any form of equivocation, that I am standing down my aspiration for the presidency of our country summarily. I wish to state very boldly that we shall return at the right time.”
