Abuja, Nigeria – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, originally scheduled for October 24, to November 28.
The decision was announced by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, who also serves as the chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, following an expanded meeting of party leaders in Abuja.
In a communiqué released after the meeting, the party stated that the rescheduling would allow the PDP to concentrate fully on the upcoming Ondo State governorship election, set for November 16, 2024. The statement emphasized the importance of unity and strength in ensuring a successful campaign to unseat the incumbent All Progressives Congress (APC) government in Ondo.
“The postponement is to ensure that the party approaches the forthcoming Ondo gubernatorial elections on 16 November 2024 with the unity and strength required to unseat the struggling APC government in the state,” the communiqué read.

The meeting in Abuja was attended by key PDP figures, including members of the Board of Trustees (BoT), the National Working Committee (NWC), the National Assembly Caucus, and the Forum of Former Governors.
