Abuja, Nigeria – Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, has appointed Ibrahim Umar to his media team.

This announcement was made on Sunday through a statement issued by the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR) in Abuja.

Umar will take over the role previously held by Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the former spokesman of the Obi campaign, who has now been appointed as the Interim National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement worldwide. The movement is a major support group for Peter Obi.

In the statement, POMR described Ibrahim Umar as a “versatile Obidient” with the same passion as his predecessor in advocating for a new Nigeria. The team also appealed to the public and supporters to extend their cooperation to Umar in his new role.

The statement further read: “Tanko has been appointed interim national coordinator of the Obidient Movement, a role that will see him manage the group’s activities on both national and international levels.”

The media team emphasized that the appointments are part of their continued efforts in the fight against political corruption, reiterating their belief that “A New Nigeria is Possible.”
