Rivers Govt Set for LG Election as RSIEC Convenes Stakeholders’ Meeting

In a memo obtained by Report Afrique, RSIEC Chairman, Hon. Justice Adolphus Enebeli (Rtd), invited key stakeholders to a general meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 5, at the commission’s headquarters in Port Harcourt.

Port Harcourt, Nigeria – The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has begun preparations for fresh local government elections following the Supreme Court’s ruling that sacked the 23 elected council chairmen on February 28, 2025.

In a memo obtained by Report Afrique, RSIEC Chairman, Hon. Justice Adolphus Enebeli (Rtd), invited key stakeholders to a general meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 5, at the commission’s headquarters in Port Harcourt.

According to the memo, the meeting will bring together leaders of all registered political parties, traditional rulers, security agencies, religious organizations, media representatives, professional bodies, civil society groups, non-governmental organizations, community-based groups, and the electorate.

The meeting, set for 2:00 PM at the RSIEC Auditorium, will focus on unveiling the timetable and guidelines for the 2025 local government elections in Rivers State.

to a general stakeholders’ meeting on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the RSIEC Headquarters, 239-243 Aba Road, Port Harcourt, by 02:00 PM prompt.

The highlight of the meeting will be the unveiling of the timetable and guidelines for the 2025 Local Government Elections in the state.

All concerned should be seated at the RSIEC Auditorium by 02:00 PM, please.
