The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has expressed uncertainty regarding the current political affiliation of former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
Tony Okocha, the state caretaker committee chairman, revealed that Amaechi has distanced himself from the party, citing an incident where he reprimanded the party’s state secretary for inviting him to a stakeholders’ meeting.
Okocha stated, “I don’t know where he belongs. He sent a message to the Secretary of the party and warned him never to send him a message about the party again.”
The APC chairman also denied claims that FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, controls the party in Rivers State, saying, “Wike is a member of PDP, an unrepentant PDP. We are APC here… He doesn’t attend our meetings, so at what point does he influence APC in Rivers State?”
