Enugu, Nigeria – Enugu State is set to host President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday, January 4, 2025, as the President embarks on his first state visit to the region. During his visit, President Tinubu will commission several landmark projects completed by Governor Peter Mbah’s administration.

The announcement was made in a statement on Friday by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia.

“The Enugu State Government is pleased to announce the first state visit to the state by the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on Saturday, January 4, 2025,” Onyia stated.

Among the projects to be commissioned are 30 completed and fully equipped Enugu Smart Green Schools, part of a larger plan to construct 260 such schools across all wards in the state. The President will also unveil 60 completed and equipped Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres, out of 260 planned for the state, and the state-of-the-art Enugu International Conference Centre, which features multiple auditoriums and multifunctional facilities.

Other projects include 90 urban roads in the main city, a Command and Control Centre equipped with modern technology, and 150 AI-enabled patrol vehicles with embedded surveillance cameras. Additionally, some completed rural roads will also be inaugurated during the visit.

Governor Mbah’s administration has expressed enthusiasm about showcasing its achievements during the President’s one-day visit.
