Wigwe University Registrar Dies from Wrong Blood Transfusion

The Registrar of Wigwe University, Ulonna Inyama has tragically passed away due to a fatal blood transfusion reaction at an Abuja hospital on Saturday.

According to a family source, Inyama suffered complications from fibroids, leading to blood loss, and was subsequently administered the incorrect blood type, resulting in a severe reaction.

The source revealed, “We were informed that her death resulted from a wrong blood transfusion… She was later referred to another hospital, where she succumbed to a worsening condition stemming from those complications.”

The family is demanding an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Inyama’s death to ensure accountability and prevent future occurrences.

Her death comes just months after the tragic loss of Wigwe University’s founder, Herbert Wigwe, his wife, and son in a helicopter crash in the USA.

Inyama previously served as Chief Personnel Officer and Head of Strategic Communications/Special Duties at the National Universities Commission (NUC) before joining Wigwe University.
