A 4.7 earthquake has hit New York City and New Jersey Friday morning causing chaos across the affected areas.
The earthquake happened at approximately 10:20 a.m on Friday. Locals have been held in fear as the quake continues to send waves across the area.
The quake was centered near Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, 40 miles west of New York City, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The impact of the quake was felt throughout the Tri-State Area. Reports of buildings shaking and rattling came in from New Jersey to Long Island and other areas close by.
Despite the shock waves, there are no reports of damage so far.
