Prosecutors Raise Alarms Over Witness Safety as Diddy Pushes for $50M Bail Secured by His $48M Miami Mansion Amid Explosive Sex Trafficking and Blackmail Allegations

Sean “Diddy” Combs returned to court Friday in a renewed effort to secure his release on a staggering $50 million bail while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges. However, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian delayed a decision, ordering both sides to submit additional documents by Monday.

The music mogul’s legal troubles deepened this week after prosecutors accused him of blackmailing witnesses from behind bars. They claimed Diddy sought “dirt” on at least two potential witnesses, referencing excerpts from handwritten jailhouse notes. These notes, which his defense argued were improperly seized and protected by attorney-client privilege, have been barred from use in the bail hearing.

A Third Attempt at Bail

Diddy, who has been held without bail at a Brooklyn federal jail since his September arrest, proposed the same $50 million bail as before, secured by his $48 million Miami Beach mansion. Despite his legal team’s assurances, prosecutors remain adamant that his release would endanger victims and witnesses.

This is Diddys’ third attempt at bail, with previous efforts rejected amid growing allegations. His trial is set for May 5, 2025, a date that could coincide with a shift in prosecution leadership under the incoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump.

Alarming Video Evidence and New Accusations

Central to the case is video footage leaked earlier this year, showing Diddy violently assaulting his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in a Los Angeles hotel hallway in 2016. The incident corroborates claims from Ventura’s lawsuit, which she filed in November 2023 and settled with Combs a day later.

In the footage, the nearly naked billionaire can be seen punching Ventura, giving her a black eye, and dragging her back to their hotel room. Ventura’s lawyers described the attack as part of a decade-long pattern of abuse.

As if the case wasn’t already high-stakes, attorney Tony Buzbee revealed he now represents over 100 additional accusers alleging Combs drugged and assaulted victims, including minors, at exclusive parties.

Prosecution Fights Back

Prosecutors argue that Combs’ influence and wealth pose a significant threat to the case. They cited concerns that his release could silence witnesses or deter more victims from coming forward. Judge Subramanian previously rejected Combs’ request for a gag order that would have prevented accusers and their lawyers from making public statements.

“Diddy’s authorities don’t support a gag order applicable not only to trial participants, but also to any alleged victim and their lawyer,”

the judge ruled.

Battle Over Seized Jailhouse Notes

Adding to the legal wrangling, Diddys’ defense is challenging the government’s handling of materials seized during a search of his jail cell. The judge barred prosecutors from using the confiscated notes, which reportedly include 19 pages from legal pads, an address book, and torn-out pages from other notebooks.

The defense has also requested surveillance footage from the search, further complicating the case.

As the world watches, Judge Subramanian is expected to rule on Combs’ bail application next week. Meanwhile, the accusations against the hip-hop icon continue to mount, raising the stakes for his upcoming trial.
