Police in Spain are urgently searching for a young man, around 18, suspected of killing an 11-year-old boy during a shocking attack on a football pitch in Mocejón, near Toledo. The suspect, who was reportedly wearing a hood, attacked the child with a sharp object before fleeing the scene on Sunday morning.
The tragic incident occurred around 10:00 local time (08:00 GMT), prompting a massive manhunt involving multiple patrols and a helicopter. The town of Mocejón, home to about 5,000 residents, is reeling from the event and has declared three days of official mourning.
Local officials expressed their deep sorrow, with Mocejón’s mayor calling it a “sad day” for the community. Regional leaders and government representatives have also condemned the attack, urging swift justice for the young victim.
As the search for the suspect continues, the town remains in shock, mourning the loss of an innocent child who was simply playing football with his friends.
