Public Outrage Erupts as Viral Video Exposes Shocking Food Contamination by Yaoundé Restaurant Owner, Leading to Arrest and Calls for Stricter Hygiene Regulations
YAOUNDÉ, CAMEROON – There is a shocking new video that has come out, including a local restaurant owner, 26-year-old woman named Victorine Bikoe, who was filmed urinating in a pot of ‘okok soup’ that she intended to sell to customers. The video went viral as it highlighted the restaurant’s unsanitary conditions.
How The Video Was Found
The disturbing clip has surfaced after the phone of Bikoe was either lost or broken. The phone’s new owner leaked the sensitive video footage found in the phone, which led to shock and anger on social media.
Reactions of Customers and Attack on Restaurant:
As expected, the regular customers of Bikoe were shocked and left in disbelief. Some customers reported having stomach aches after eating at her restaurant, but the claims never made sense.
A witness who was among the first few people to see the clip explained the reaction saying,
“We are used to seeing things like these on shows like Monty Python but this was crazy. Two youngsters came in around 1 pm and played the video for us. We were in utter disbelief, our food vendor has been serving this inhuman approach to us.”
Outraged customers, set out for the restaurant ready to destroy anything that comes in their way. While the rest of the world was puzzled by the restaurant’s action, the customers were more active and burning the place to their comfort zone.
Soon, agitated clients rampaged into the restaurant, vandalizing the premises in pure fury. Deep inside, they found even more shocking proof, urine bottles neatly placed inside the restaurant. Among the witnesses, one said,
“We came across a box with an egg holder in it and to our surprise there was shit inside as well”.
Searching for the Criminal and Her Detainment
Victorine Bikoe, a married woman with six children, absconded leaving a very angry population in pursuit of justice. Her husband who is a plumber and owns a plumbing busines claimed he only comes to the restaurant at times, but she never let him see her in action. The husband and children of the couple locked themselves in the house while enraged townsfolk started banging on the door for explanations.
The authorities did a manhunt and on February 16th managed to identify Bikoe’s location to a village called Mvengue in Cameroon’s southern region where she was picked up and brought back to Yaoundé for her trial.

While law enforcement officers questioned her, Bikoe chose not to speak about her reasoning. Instead, she wanted to talk about the people who released the video.
“It was some guys who stole my phone and put that video online,”
she is reported to have told the police.
Community’s Anger and Public Health Concerns
The evil act has raised worrying alarms about food hygiene and safety in Cameroon’s restaurants. Locals are now speaking up to competent bodies requesting thorough investigations and enforcement of stricter restaurant regulations to prevent any such occurrence in the future.
Health authorities have started to campaign about the hazards present in food from uncontrolled vendors, and the campaign is aimed at the general public to educate them on safety measures in food handling.
While the court proceedings go on, many Cameroonians are left with questions that require immediate answers. Why did Victorine Bikoe go to such lengths or was there something more’s to it?
According to information from other sources, investigations are still ongoing and they hope to achieve justice where they will ensure that evil of this kind are averted altogether.
