New Visa Service Providers to Take Over in Key Regions, Affecting UK Visa Applicants Worldwide

Starting from September 2024 through January 2025, the UK government is transitioning to new commercial partners at visa application centres worldwide. This change will affect UK visa applicants in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia as the UK seeks to streamline its visa services.

Key Changes Effective October 15th, 2024

One of the biggest updates involves the switch from Sopra Steria to TLScontact for UK Visa and Citizenship Application Services (UKVCAS) starting on October 15th, 2024. If you have an appointment booked on or after this date, your visa processing will occur at TLScontact centres.

While this transition may lead to limited appointment availability in the short term, applicants do not need to take any immediate action.

Transitioning Service Providers in Several Regions

The service provider for some regions will also switch from TLScontact to VFS Global. This means that applicants could start their visa process with TLScontact and finish it with VFS Global. Impacted areas include parts of Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia.

What Applicants Should Do

If your visa application is affected by these changes, you will receive emails from both TLScontact and VFS Global with important instructions. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Check Your Emails: Monitor your inbox and spam folder for emails from “@tlscontact.com” or “@vfsglobal.com” for legitimate instructions.
  2. Follow Instructions: Carefully review any steps outlined in the emails to continue with your application.
  3. Verify Email Authenticity: Ensure all communications are from the official domain of the new service providers.

Rescheduling Appointments

If you need to reschedule an appointment, be aware that you may have to pay the Mandatory User Pay (MUP) fee again. However, you can request a refund for the original fee from TLScontact.

For further inquiries or to find your nearest visa centre, visit the TLScontact website for more information. Keep an eye on official updates as more visa centres transition to new providers like VFS Global.

No Impact on Visa Decisions or Processing Times

It’s important to note that these changes will not affect the outcome of your visa application or its processing times.

Stay informed by regularly checking your emails and verifying the legitimacy of communications before taking action.
