Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital, witnesses a tight security presence as dignitaries from all walks of life arrive in the city to attend the burial of the late Access Bank Holdings CEO, Herbert Wigwe.
Well-kitted mobile policemen were seen along the Port Harcourt Airport around leading to Isiokpo. The same was also seen at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Isiokpo in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, where some of the burial activities took place.
Report says over 50 private jets are expected to arrive Isiokpo for Wigwe’s burial.
Wigwe, his wife, Doreen, and son, Chizzy died in a helicopter crash in the US in February 2024.
As at the time of writing this report, dignitaries, guests and hundreds of mourners have started arriving at the RCCG in Isiokpo.
The state commissioner of police, Olatunji Disu, led security men to the venue.
The governors of Rivers and Bayelsa states were also sighted at the busy venue.
Clerics, traditional rulers from Omoeke community, Wigwe’s hometown and monarchs from Isiokpo, in general, were already seated.
Family members and friends attended the Christian wake organized in honour of the deceased in the community on Friday.
