The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the dates for the highly anticipated AFCON and WAFCON tournaments, set to take place in Morocco.
- AFCON: December 21, 2025 – January 18, 2026
- WAFCON: July 5, 2025 – July 26, 2025 (originally scheduled for this year)
According to CAF President Patrice Motsepe, the delay in announcing the dates was due to the extensive global football calendar, involving complex discussions with various interested parties.
Despite the challenges, Motsepe expressed optimism that the tournaments will be the best in African football history, showcasing the continent’s talent and competitiveness.
Motsepe reaffirmed its commitment to advancing African players’ interests, building relationships with international football organizations, and ensuring African football’s global competitiveness.
