Mark Cuban Expresses Interest in Acquiring X, Formerly Twitter, and Fox News
In a recent conversation, Mark Cuban, the billionaire investor and star of the popular reality TV show Shark Tank, revealed his interest in purchasing X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, from its current owner Elon Musk. Cuban stated that if he had the opportunity to buy the company, he wouldn’t hesitate to do so.
Cuban’s interest in X comes amid the platform’s significant overhaul since Musk took over in 2022. The entrepreneur transformed the platform into a revenue-generating hub for users, allowing them to monetize their engagement. The revamped X app is now valued at around $20 billion.
Cuban’s enthusiasm for acquiring X is not surprising, given his background in entrepreneurship and investments. However, it’s notable that he believes Musk has no reason to sell the company. “There’s no reason for him to sell it,” Cuban said.
In addition to his interest in X, Cuban expressed a desire to purchase Fox News, a conservative news network owned by the Murdoch family. While he acknowledged that he lacks the funds to make such a purchase, he emphasized his willingness to buy the network if he had the means.
Cuban’s comments on Fox News were part of a larger discussion about reaching the “Fox News generation,” a term he uses to describe baby boomers who are predominantly loyal to the conservative-leaning network. His remarks highlight the importance of understanding and engaging with diverse demographics in the media landscape.
The potential acquisition of X or Fox News would be significant moves for Cuban, who has already made his mark in the business world through his successful investments and entrepreneurial ventures.
