The Fashion Mob Show : Young-stars Lit Up Port Harcourt With A Blend Of Music and Runway

Port Harcourt, Nigeria – The warmth that defines the city of Port Harcourt is glaring to a first timer as does its symbolic blue painted commercial buses and cabs. Among many things that make Port Harcourt a tourists’ delight is its nightlife and its creative industry.

Visitors and residents seem to have become so familiar with the obvious fun that accompanies nightlife in Port Harcourt. What they are likely not prepared for is the new kind of fun that is being boosted by young locals who are determined to set the city on a new entertainment world map.

One of such was the Fashion Mob Show which took place on Christmas Eve at the Lasmall event centre. A classy blend of music and runway fueled by young talents.

The free entry event tagged – Model Expression started at 3pm with its red carpet’s appearance and formalities which was hosted by Speech Horsfall.

The event officially kick-started at 6 pm as its hosts, the stunning Femi K and rising compere and comedian, David Wilson, maintaining a healthy flow of soft laughter with their mind chilling jokes.

The Expression was the second edition of the Fashion Mob Show organized by Port Harcourt to the World, a team creative locals who have set a mark on the city’s creative hub in such a short time.

The pool of Lasmal and its environs were transformed into a circular runway, so every member of the audience could have a clear view of the models’ fashion exhibition. The atmosphere was exciting as lots of people had come to see their favorite models walk the runway and watch the city’s finest artist perform.

There were musical performances from PH artists like Benjizzy, Kella, Laye, Larry Mac Suku, Jorell, Shyrl Six, Verse Gunzalo, Ranziz, etc.

Names of some notable models who walked the runway include: Faith Yakubu, Kobo Medlyn, Bukky Folorunsho, Richard Ezenda, Victory David, etc. There was also the appearance of child models, which was loudly applauded by spectators.

The hosts of the event did a great job at engaging guests and keeping them entertained at intervals with jokes, the audience was responsive as they celebrated and danced to the songs of their best artist amidst eating and drinking.

It was a night of fun and glamour. Participants described the show as ” something fresh,” saying they are used to comedy and music shows in the city. A fashion show with a blend of music definitely paints a different picture.

Notable brands who supported the event were also recognized by the organizers. Among brands celebrated were Media Works,  WIRED TV, Only in Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt In Pictures and many more.

The presence of outstanding Port Harcourt photography brands like We Sabi Work, POP, Mangrove Photography etc, added an exotic buzz to the event as guests were excited about been captured in the moment.

The highpoint of the event was the anniversary session which involved Presentation of certificates of recognition to brands and outstanding personalities by the Founder of the PortHarcourt to the world campaign, Goodluck Azunwena, which was followed by the cutting of the anniversary cake and floating of Chinese lanterns while Legendary Suni’s performed the popular Christmas Carol – Oh Holy Night(Christmas in Nigeria). His eccentric voice attracted praises from the crowd, as everyone joined him in singing.
