A director with the Kogi State Pensions Board dies of high blood pressure at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Lokoja, the state capital
The 61-year-old civil servant, Alphonsus Ameh, who received his sack letter on Friday, December 29, 2017, from the Kogi state government, was reported to have died of high blood pressure at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Lokoja, the state capital, three days after he was sacked.
Ameh, a director with the Kogi State Pensions Board, was among the directors and permanent secretaries who were suspended in February 2016 by the state government.
One of the deceased relatives told the reporters that the director who was a grade level 16 officer of the board, was has not been paid any salary since his suspension two years ago. She said he died three days after receiving a sack letter from the Kogi state government.
He was director of administration and Finance (DAF) in the Kogi State Pensions Board before he and others were suspended by the state government at the outset of Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration in 2016.
