Vice President Shettima, chairing the second Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa, has urged stakeholders in both the public and private sectors to enhance synergy and embrace technology for bolstering Nigeria’s business environment.
The PEBEC’s 90-Day Regulatory Reform Accelerator Action Plan, launched under President Tinubu’s administration, underscores a commitment to impactful reforms aimed at fostering a conducive business climate and improving Nigeria’s ease of doing business perception.
Vice President Shettima emphasized the importance of robust stakeholder engagement and technological adoption to address operational bottlenecks at Nigeria’s entry points and in business regulation.
Aligned with the PEBEC’s Regulatory Reforms Workstream, the 90-Day Accelerator focuses on eight key indicators aimed at driving measurable growth across industries while ensuring compliance with the Business Facilitation Act (BFA) 2022.
These indicators include the review and update of MDA Service Level Agreements, transparency and efficiency reforms within MDAs, improvements in entry and exit procedures at airports and ports, facilitation of the National Single Window Project, and reforms to enhance agro-export and manufacturing for export.
Special Adviser to the President on PEBEC and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, highlighted that the 90-Day Accelerator aims to deliver tangible export-focused impacts across key sectors, supporting the economic initiatives of the Tinubu administration.
She stressed the importance of urgency and purpose in the next 90 days to rapidly enhance Nigeria’s business climate through collaboration with the private sector and commitment to the well-being of Nigerians, particularly amidst current challenges.
PEBEC will provide regular updates on the progress of the Accelerator plan as it collaborates closely with stakeholders to drive meaningful reform.
Vice President Shettima disclosed the meeting to the public on his social media handle on Wednesday.
