The Executive Committee members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ganduje Ward, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, Kano State, have denounced a group of individuals who announced the “suspension” of APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, as impostors.
In a statement jointly signed by Chairman Ahmed Muhammed Ganduje and Secretary Usaini Jibrin, the party executives stated that no new election was conducted by the state or national body of the APC to herald a fresh leadership, and therefore, they remain the authentic executive members of the ward.
The party executives accused the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) government in Kano State of orchestrating the move, following a failed attempt to suspend Ganduje.
They pointed out that the sponsored group used a fake or uncertified headed paper to announce the purported suspension, and the leader of the group is an NNPP member who contested and lost the councilorship election in Ganduje ward.
The APC executives called on the national leadership of the party and security agencies to facilitate the arrest and prosecution of the group for impersonation.
They also urged party members to disregard the propaganda aimed at disrupting the peace of the party.
