In an exclusive interview with the Honest Bunch podcast, renowned Nollywood actor and producer, Kanayo O. Kanayo, revealed his aspirations to remain active in the film industry until he reaches the age of 90. The 62-year-old actor expressed his passion for the craft and his desire to continue making films for many years to come.
However, Kanayo also spoke candidly about the challenges facing the industry, including the influx of untalented individuals and the prevalence of drug use among actors. He emphasized that acting is a natural talent and that those who are not born with it should pursue other professions.
Furthermore, Kanayo touched on the issue of “unnatural behaviors” in the industry, hinting at the presence of homosexuality. He expressed his concern that these behaviors are not only detrimental to the industry but also a threat to societal values.
Kanayo’s comments echo his previous statements about the industry, in which he warned against the influx of individuals who are only interested in using Nollywood as a platform for their personal gain or to engage in illicit activities.
Despite these challenges, Kanayo remains committed to his craft and is already taking steps to ensure his legacy is passed on to the next generation. He recently introduced his son, Clinton, to filmmaking, indicating his desire to share his knowledge and experience with the next generation of actors.
It remains to be seen how Kanayo’s comments will be received by the industry and fans alike, but one thing is certain – the veteran actor is bold to speak his mind and stand up for his beliefs.
