In a recent announcement dated Tuesday, August 6, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection in Kenya revealed openings for enumerator and supervisor positions, with successful candidates set to serve for a period of 21 days.
Data Collection Roles Across 12 Counties
The data collection will take place in 12 counties, including Uasin Gishu, which requires 658 enumerators, Bomet (521), Nyeri (312), Nakuru (1,002), and Siaya (495). Additional counties in need include Kiambu (833), Nandi (432), Nairobi (1,495), Embu (276), Busia (730), Trans Nzoia (425), and Kericho (380).
Enumerator Qualifications and Pay
Applicants for the enumerator positions must hold at least a C- (minus) grade in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and be proficient in computer literacy. They must reside in the locations they are applying for and understand the local language. Successful candidates will earn Ksh1,000 daily, plus a Ksh500 transport allowance, totaling Ksh31,500 for the 21-day period.
Supervisor Vacancies
The Ministry is also hiring 762 supervisors from the same counties. Supervisors must have a C (plain) grade in KCSE, be computer literate, reside in the counties they are applying for, and be Community Health Volunteers with leadership experience. Supervisors will receive Ksh1,300 per day, a Ksh1,000 transport allowance, and airtime, bringing their total earnings to Ksh48,300.

Interested applicants must apply online via the Ministry’s website at www.socialprotection.go.ke. Hard copies will not be accepted. The application deadline is August 26, 2024.
