“All married female Prospective Corps Members (PCM’s) who are deployed to states where their husbands are not domiciled should report to the nearest NYSC Orientation Camp for their State of Deployment to be changed.”
Abuja, Nigeria – The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has advised married female prospective corps members to seek redeployment if they are posted to states where their husbands do not reside. The announcement was made on Monday via a post on X.com.
The NYSC issued the directive specifically for the 2024 Batch “B” Stream II married female prospective corps members. The scheme stated, “All married female Prospective Corps Members (PCM’s) who are deployed to states where their husbands are not domiciled should report to the nearest NYSC Orientation Camp for their State of Deployment to be changed.”
These corps members are required to present themselves during the registration period at the Orientation Camps, bringing copies of their marriage certificates and other relevant documents as proof. Once the redeployment is processed, the updated posting will be reflected on their dashboard for reprinting.
The NYSC, established by the Nigerian government on May 22, 1973, aims to engage graduates in nation-building and national development. The scheme was created under decree No. 24, which emphasized fostering unity among Nigerian youths and promoting national integration.
Eligibility for the NYSC program requires that graduates be under the age of 30 at the time of their graduation. Those who exceed the age limit receive a Certificate of Exemption, which is considered equivalent to the NYSC Discharge Certificate. Corps members who successfully complete their service year are awarded a certificate of satisfactory participation.
