CIA Officer Brian Jeffrey Raymond Sentenced to 30 Years for Drugging and Sexually Assaulting Women Across Multiple Countries
A former CIA officer, Brian Jeffrey Raymond, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for drugging and sexually assaulting at least 24 women over a 14-year period while on assignments in the US and abroad. The 48-year-old was caught in 2020 after a naked woman was seen screaming for help on the balcony of his Mexico City residence, leading to a major investigation by the FBI.
Authorities discovered hundreds of photos and videos dating back to 2006, showing Raymond sexually abusing unconscious women in various countries, including the US, Peru, and Mexico. Prosecutors revealed that Raymond lured women to his government-leased apartment, drugged them, and filmed their abuse. Many of the women had no memory of the assaults.
US Attorney Matthew Graves called Raymond a “predator” and stated the sentence would mark him as a sex offender for life. Despite attempts to delete incriminating evidence, investigators found over 500 images of his victims. Raymond pleaded guilty in 2023 to charges including sexual abuse, coercion, and transportation of obscene material.
Raymond met his victims through dating apps, often drugging them while serving wine and snacks. Some victims only learned of their assault when shown photos by FBI investigators. Several women gave emotional impact statements in court, confronting their abuser.
In addition to his prison sentence, Raymond faces lifetime supervised release and has been ordered to pay $260,000 in restitution.
This case serves as a stark reminder, according to the FBI, that justice will be pursued regardless of where or by whom crimes are committed.
