In a separate incident, a minor fire outbreak was reported on a section of the Lagos Blue Line track near the NEPA Station, opposite the Eko Bridge in the Apogbon area of Lagos State.

Lagos, Nigeria – A fire outbreak destroyed property worth millions of naira at Anibaba Road, inward Iyana School in the Iyana Iba area of Lagos State on Monday.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours, reportedly engulfed a bungalow containing 10 rooms and two shops.

The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Damilola Oke-Osanyitolu, confirmed the incident, stating that the agency received a distress call at approximately 6:44 a.m. The LASEMA Dolphin Response Team from Igando Base arrived at the scene by 7:08 a.m. and found the building completely ablaze.

According to preliminary investigations by LASEMA, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, though household items, including furniture, electronics, and vital documents, were lost to the inferno. Additionally, a physical examination revealed partial structural damage to adjacent buildings.

The LASEMA response was supported by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service under the agency’s supervision. Further investigations are underway to determine the fire’s cause.

In a separate incident, a minor fire outbreak was reported on a section of the Lagos Blue Line track near the NEPA Station, opposite the Eko Bridge in the Apogbon area of Lagos State. The incident occurred around 4:12 p.m. on Saturday, as confirmed by Gboyega Akosile, spokesperson for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, via his social media account. Fortunately, no casualties were recorded, and train service was not in operation at the time.
