Tinubu Heads to Brazil for G20 Summit, Days After Saudi Trip

According to the Presidential Spokesman, Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja shortly after the conclusion of the summit.

Abuja , Nigeria — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Sunday en route to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he will participate in the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit.

The event, set to address pressing issues in the Middle East, is hosted by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, announced the trip in a statement on Saturday. He emphasized that President Tinubu will underscore Nigeria’s stance on the ongoing Israel-Palestinian conflict. The president will call for an immediate ceasefire and advocate for peaceful negotiations to resolve the crisis.

“Nigeria will push for renewed efforts to implement the two-state solution, aiming for lasting peace in the region,” Onanuga stated.

President Tinubu’s delegation will include several top government officials, among them Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, National Security Adviser; Alhaji Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation; and Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed, Director General of the National Intelligence Agency.

The summit follows a similar gathering held in Riyadh last year. According to the Presidential Spokesman, the President is expected to return to Abuja shortly after the conclusion of the summit.
