Mark Zuckerberg first teased on Instagram Tuesday, sharing a photo of the duo before the song’s release.
USA – In an unexpected musical collaboration, Mark Zuckerberg and T-Pain have released an acoustic, auto-tuned cover of “Get Low,” originally by Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz. The track debuted on Wednesday under the duo’s temporary supergroup name, Z-Pain.
Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta Platforms and one of the world’s richest individuals, created the unique cover as a sentimental gift for his wife, Priscilla Chan. The tech mogul announced the collaboration on Instagram, revealing that the idea stemmed from the early days of his relationship with Chan. “‘Get Low’ was playing when I first met Priscilla at a college party, so every year we listen to it on our dating anniversary,” Zuckerberg wrote. “This year, I worked with @tpain on our own version of this lyrical masterpiece. Love you P ❤️”
The announcement post included a heartfelt image of song lyrics encircled with a hand-drawn heart, an album cover featuring Zuckerberg and T-Pain with guitars, and several behind-the-scenes photos from their recording sessions. Zuckerberg also shared a clip of Chan’s amused reaction to the cover, where she laughed and remarked, “It’s so romantic. Twenty-one years later, I can’t get quite as low, but it brings back a lot of fun memories.”
T-Pain, known for his influential use of auto-tune in hip-hop, echoed the excitement on his own Instagram account. “Z-Pain has arrived… ‘Get Low’ by zuck and me out now,” he posted, alongside a picture of himself with Zuckerberg in the studio.
The acoustic rendition marks a major shift from the original 2002 “Get Low,” which featured an upbeat, crunk-style tempo. Z-Pain’s version slows things down, emphasizing acoustic guitar and auto-tuned vocals from Zuckerberg, with a signature cameo from T-Pain.
The unlikely collaboration has generated significant buzz online, with fans reacting to the pairing of the tech billionaire and the award-winning artist. “It’s happening, guys,” Zuckerberg first teased on Instagram Tuesday, sharing a photo of the duo before the song’s release. The track is now available on Spotify, marking a memorable and humorous anniversary tribute from Zuckerberg to Chan.
