Yenagoa, Nigeria – Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has approved a grant of N300,000 for each indigent law student from the state, studying in any law school in Nigeria.
This announcement was made by the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in the state, Biriyai Dambo, SAN, during a meeting with representatives of the Bayelsa State Law Graduates Forum in Yenagoa.
According to Dambo, the grant is a reflection of Governor Diri’s commitment to the education of Bayelsa indigenes. The grant aims to cushion the effect of economic hardship on the students, enabling them to focus on their academic pursuits.
Governor Diri urged the students to take their studies seriously, making the state and their families proud. Imomotimi Godspower, speaking on behalf of the students, expressed profound gratitude to the governor for approving the grant, describing it as a very encouraging gesture.
