“Marriage Is a Trap for Men” – GehGeh Claims

GehGeh’s Bold Claims
“Marriage Is a Trap for Men” – GehGeh
Nigerian social media influencer and financial coach Emmanuel Obruste, popularly known as GehGeh, has once again stirred public debate with his controversial views on modern relationships.

In a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, GehGeh labeled Nigerian women as “the worst to date or marry,” citing financial expectations in relationships as the primary issue.

During the podcast, GehGeh suggested that many women in Nigeria view relationships as a means of financial gain, likening them to “employment.” He urged men to reconsider the institution of marriage, claiming it has evolved into a strategy for women to exploit men’s resources.

“Men should stop marrying because it’s a strategy women use to lure men into wasting their resources,” He stated.

“I feel Nigerian women are the worst to date or marry because they date for money. They see relationships as a form of employment.”

The social media personality compared modern-day relationships to those of the past, arguing that traditional marriages were built on mutual contributions. In my dad’s era, women worked for men. They farmed, provided, and supported their families. But today, it’s different. Women now expect men to foot all the bills,” he added.

He also shed light on his personal life, revealing why he remains single despite his success. “I’m not ready for the baggage that comes with relationships today,” he admitted.

Rise to Fame

Born in 1995 in Warri, Delta State, GehGeh’s humble beginnings have shaped his perspective on financial management. The son of two educators, he grew up valuing knowledge and hard work. Today, GehGeh is one of Nigeria’s most prominent financial coaches, leveraging platforms like TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram to share wealth-building strategies.

With over 450,000 followers on TikTok and nearly 300,000 on Facebook, GehGeh has built a loyal audience by offering practical advice on financial literacy and cautioning against reckless spending. His estimated net worth of ₦800 million (around $650,000) reflects his success as both an entrepreneur and a social media influencer.

In December 2024, GehGeh celebrated the grand opening of his hotel, marking a significant milestone in his business journey. This achievement underscores his commitment to showcasing successful ventures while inspiring others to pursue financial independence.

Despite the controversy, GehGeh’s influence remains undeniable. His seminars on financial literacy and social media marketing have helped countless individuals build their own businesses. By challenging conventional norms, GehGeh continues to push boundaries and provoke important conversations.
