In a disturbing turn of events, the Southwest Security Network, codenamed Amotekun, has uncovered a sex trafficking syndicate operating in Ogun State. The syndicate, which lured underage girls with promises of employment, forced them into prostitution, charging as little as ₦1,000 per session.

Victim Testimonies: A Life of Fear and Exploitation

A 14-year-old victim, who was rescued by authorities, revealed that she was brought from Akwa Ibom State under the pretense of working as a salesgirl. Upon arrival, she was drugged, her hair was cut, and she was threatened with death if she attempted to escape. The young girl has since been forced to sleep with 12 to 20 men daily, with all earnings handed over to her madam, Mrs. Edem Joy.

Mrs. Edem Joy, who claimed to be under the command of a 60-year-old woman named Mrs. Okutoro Yemisi, allegedly lured girls from Akwa Ibom, Calabar, and Delta State. The victims were made to swear oaths using their blood, hair, or the Bible, ensuring their silence and compliance. They were then drugged, subjected to charms, and dispatched to various hotels with the promise of freedom after a year, along with a phone and a box of clothes.

The victims also disclosed that their madam used tissues from the men for ritual purposes, which they were forced to submit after each session. The youngest victim rescued was a 12-year-old girl.

Authorities acted on an anonymous tip received on February 8th, leading to the arrest of the suspects at Railway Line Hotel, Old Bank Bus Stop, in Ifo town. Items recovered from the scene included lubricants, drugs, cash, and charms.
