US Puts intelligence sharing with Ukraine On Hold
US Intelligence Sharing with Ukraine Paused Amid Tensions, Says CIA Director

The United States has halted intelligence sharing with Ukraine following a significant deterioration in relations between Kyiv and the White House, CIA Director John Ratcliffe announced on Wednesday. This development comes in the wake of a public dispute between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a recent meeting in the Oval Office, which was shortly followed by the suspension of vital U.S. military assistance to Ukraine.

Ratcliffe confirmed that intelligence cooperation had also been paused while Ukrainian troops continues its efforts to repel the ongoing Russian invasion. “President Trump expressed serious concerns over President Zelensky’s commitment to the peace initiative,” Ratcliffe stated in an interview with Fox News. He characterized the suspension of both military and intelligence support as a temporary measure, assuring that the United States would eventually recommit to supporting Ukrainian people.

On Tuesday, Trump noted that Zelensky had indicated Ukraine’s willingness to engage in discussions with Moscow and to finalize a U.S. minerals agreement as Kyiv attempts to recover from the recent diplomatic fallout. In an effort to mend relations, Zelensky took to social media to express his regret over their disagreement and his desire to “make things right.”

During his address to Congress later that day, Trump shared a letter from Zelensky that emphasized Ukraine’s eagerness to negotiate for peace. “The letter states, ‘Ukraine is prepared to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to foster lasting peace. Nobody desires peace more than the Ukrainians,’” Trump relayed to the assembled lawmakers.
