Abuja, Nigeria – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has rescheduled the commencement of registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to Monday, February 3, 2025.
Initially set to begin on Friday, January 31, 2025, the registration was postponed to allow the Board to implement critical adjustments to its registration process.
Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, announced the change in a statement on Friday, explaining that the modifications were necessary due to recent developments affecting some university law programmes and concerns over the accreditation of certain Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.
“These adjustments came in light of the recent suspension of certain law programmes at selected universities, as communicated to the Board by the Council for Legal Education,” Benjamin stated.
He further revealed that JAMB had discovered some CBT centres gained approval through deceptive means, necessitating a thorough review and disqualification of such centres.
“The Board acknowledges the disruption this may cause to candidates and other stakeholders and sincerely apologises for any inconvenience,” he added.
JAMB assured that the additional time would be utilized to finalize all necessary changes and ensure a seamless registration process for candidates.
