See Three Port Harcourt Creatives Who have Died in Auto Crashes in 2023

The recent death of popular Port Harcourt photographer and cinematographer, Michael Nwagugbo in an auto crash along Whimpey road in the city has attracted reactions from residents and creatives in the bobbling city and capital of Rivers state.

One of such reactions came from Mr. Gift Azunwena, who took to his Facebook page to recount the number of creatives who have lost their lives to auto crashes in the year 2023.

REPORT AFRIQUE now takes a review of the creatives in Port Harcourt city who lost their lives to auto crashes in the year 2023 below.

John Kennedy Kanu also known as Bros Jay Kay died along with his girlfriend in a fatal auto crash in April, 2023 in the Rumuodara axis of the East-West Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Bros Jay Kay also owned a media and e-ticketing company called, Reelwood TV. His vehicle was said to have rammed into a broken down waste disposal truck parked olong the road, leading to his death.

Bassist and Singer Jubilee Olumati

Jubilee Olumati was said to have died in October, 2023 after he was involved in an accident in Port Harcourt.

He was the lead base guitarist for the famous gospel singer, Prinx Emmanuel.

Cinematographer Michael Nwagugbo, who was also the CEO of WildShot Studios, was said to be driving very fast in his Lexus SUV along Whimpey road, towards the Rumuola junction to rescue his mother when he was involved in an accident that claimed his life on Friday 9th December, 2023.

His death made the list of three popular Port Harcourt creatives who have lost their lives in the year 2023 to auto crashes.

The creative community in Port Harcourt, Rivers state mourns the lost of these creative minds.
