Governor Aiyedatiwa Inaugurates New Cabinet Members in Ondo State

In a ceremony held at the International Culture and Events Centre (The Dome) in Akure, Governor Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State inaugurated new members of the State Executive Council.

The ceremony saw the swearing-in of six commissioners, eight special advisers, and the Head of Service, Mr. Bayo Philip.

The newly appointed commissioners are Mr. Emmanuel Igbasan, Engr. Razaq Obe, Mrs Omowumi Isaac, Dr Olukayode Abraham Ajulo, Mr Akinwumi Sowore, and Mr Oyeniyi Oseni. Meanwhile, the Special Advisers appointed include Hon. Olugbenga Omole, Mrs. Olamide Falana, Hon. Alabi Johnson, Summy Smart Francis, Dr. Olawunmi Ilawole, Pastor Babalola Joseph Ayoade, Comrade Abdulganiyu Muhammed, and Prof. Simidele Odimayo.

Governor Aiyedatiwa charged the newly inaugurated members to prioritize good governance and service delivery to the people of Ondo State. He particularly urged Mr. Bayo Philip, the new Head of Service, to provide exemplary leadership and prioritize the welfare of civil servants.

Addressing the economic challenges faced by the state, Governor Aiyedatiwa announced measures to alleviate the high cost of living, including the release of grains from reserves and the construction of rural access roads to farms across the state.

Furthermore, the governor emphasized the administration’s commitment to education by approving N550 million for the payment of the 2024 West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) registration fees for eligible public secondary school candidates in the state.

In anticipation of the upcoming gubernatorial primaries and election in November, Governor Aiyedatiwa called on all political stakeholders to maintain peace and civility, emphasizing the importance of avoiding violence and maintaining good conduct.

The Head of Service, Mr Bayo Philip, urged state workers to rededicate themselves to the civil service, promising to encourage promotion based on merit and to uphold discipline in the workforce.

In response, Mr Emmanuel Igbasan, speaking on behalf of other commissioners and Special Advisers, expressed gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa for the trust reposed in them, pledging to make meaningful contributions to governance in the state.

The ceremony was attended by notable dignitaries including the Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi, Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa, Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Olusegun Odusola, APC chairman in Ondo State, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Abayomi Akinruntan, as well as traditional rulers, religious leaders, and party leaders.

The recent development was made public in a statement released by Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Ondo State on his official Facebook page on Saturday.
