Kaduna Church Continues 19-Year Tradition of Feeding Underprivileged Muslims, Promoting Peace and Religious Tolerance During Ramadan
In a remarkable show of religious harmony, the Church of Christ Evangelical and Life Intercessory Ministry in Sabon Tasha, Kaduna State, has distributed food grains to over 1,000 underprivileged Muslims and Islamic schools as Ramadan fasting begins.
The church’s General Overseer, Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru, led the distribution, emphasizing that the initiative fosters peaceful coexistence and religious tolerance in the region.
“This is our way of promoting unity and supporting those in need during Ramadan. We are also reciprocating the kindness of Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani, a Muslim woman who consistently donates to Christian widows and orphans during festive periods,” Pastor Buru said.
19 Years of Giving

According to Pastor Buru, the church has been providing food relief to poor Muslims across five northern states for the past 19 years.
“We have purchased 30 bags of maize and millet to distribute this year. Our goal is to support over 1,000 less privileged Muslims so they can fully participate in the Ramadan fast,” he added.
Call for Fair Food Prices
Beyond food distribution, the pastor also mobilized 30 volunteer pastors and imams for a 7-day campaign urging traders to avoid arbitrary price hikes during Ramadan.
Muslim Beneficiaries Express Gratitude

Mallam Hassan Lawal, leader of the Association of Persons Living with Disabilities, and Mallam Tukur Zubairu of the Blind Persons Association, both thanked the church for its continued generosity.
The church called on well-meaning individuals to support the less privileged, reinforcing the message that humanity transcends religion.
