Catholic Church Investigates Priest Amid Gay Party Allegations
Dunavecse, Hungary– The Catholic Church is investigating Gergő Bese, the parish priest of Dunavecse, following allegations that he attended gay parties and engaged in long-term relationships with men. These claims have reached high government circles, with the Apostolic Nunciature confirming they have forwarded the matter to the Archdiocese of Kalocsa-Kecskemét for review by Archbishop Balázs Bábel.
Bese, known for his prominent role in political Christianity, consecrated the former Carmelite monastery now used as the Prime Minister’s Office and has been vocal against LGBTQ+ rights. He has also been involved in several government-related events and received substantial state funding for his organizations.
The allegations, reported by Válasz Online, have been described in government circles as potentially more scandalous than the Szájer case. Szájer caseAttempts to reach Bese for comment were unsuccessful, and his official Facebook page has since become unavailable.
Bese previously campaigned against opposition parties during the parliamentary elections, criticizing their stance on religious education and church-funded schools. The church’s investigation continues as the controversy unfolds.
