Emotional Reunion in Abraka as Kidnapping Victim Escapes

Delta State, Nigeria – In a heartfelt reunion in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State on Sunday, Joshua Jessa, a kidnapping victim who was abducted by unidentified assailants, returned home after what his family describes as a “miraculous escape.”

Sources informed reporters that Jessa managed to escape from his captors on Sunday evening, just days after being kidnapped on Wednesday. His father, Chief Jessa Harrison, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Jessa Global Limited, could hardly contain his joy as he embraced his son, referring to his escape as serendipitous.

Harrison shared the details of his son’s ordeal in a Facebook post, stating that Joshua had been taken by two armed men who forcibly transported him into the bushes. The father recounted how his son miraculously broke free on Sunday.

“God freed my son. I did not pay a single naira,” an overjoyed Harrison declared. Initially, the kidnappers had demanded a staggering ransom of N50 million, which was later negotiated down to N6 million. Reports suggested that the ransom was set to be paid on the same evening that Joshua escaped.

Harrison relayed how Joshua ran from his captors to Kokori, where he was able to call his father. “At first, I thought it was a prank. We then went to look for him. After reaching him, I took him to Eku for medical treatment before bringing him home,” he recounted.

Despite the joyous reunion, Chief Jessa expressed frustration over the perceived lack of urgency from local police regarding his son’s abduction. He noted that only his younger brother, who serves as the Special Adviser on Security to the Governor, and some vigilante members assisted in the search after receiving word of Joshua’s escape.
