LP Faction Unveils ‘Operation Recover and Redeem’ to Reclaim Party, Strengthen Internal Unity, and Challenge Tinubu in 2027 Elections
The Labour Party (LP) has launched a bold new strategy, Operation Recover & Redeem, aimed at reclaiming its influence and positioning itself as a major contender in the 2027 general elections.
The initiative, spearheaded by a faction loyal to interim Chairlady Nanedi Usman, seeks to resolve internal crises and strengthen the party’s structure nationwide.
LP Moves to Rebuild
Ogun State’s interim party chairman, Apagun Olaolu Samuel, made this known during a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) National Political Commission. He expressed concerns over the party’s current state, including prolonged court cases and perceived silence from the NLC on key party issues.
“As part of the Recover and Redeem strategy, LP will conduct a nationwide congress leading to a legitimate and all-inclusive national convention. This will restore our integrity, protect our human capital, and rebuild our image ahead of 2027,”
Olaolu stated.
He further emphasized that the party would implement legal and organizational measures to counter external influences and internal manipulations that have hindered its growth.
“We are committed to taking back our party and restoring its values. We urge all members to stay committed as we work towards making LP a formidable force in 2027,”
he added.
NLC Backs Labour Party’s Revamp Plan
Responding to the delegation, the NLC Political Commission, led by Acting Chairman Professor Theophilus Ndubuaku, reaffirmed its commitment to addressing the party’s concerns.
The commission also formally recognized the LP’s Interim Executive Committee in Ogun State and applauded their efforts in maintaining party unity amid turbulent times.
With the Recover & Redeem strategy now in motion, LP is gearing up for a major comeback, setting the stage for a competitive political showdown in 2027.
