Tragic Fatal Stabbing in Lekki: Police Investigate Incident Involving Sex Worker
Lagos State, Nigeria – A 48-year-old man named Okafor has lost his life following a fatal stabbing in his residence at Jakande Housing Estate, Lekki, during the early hours of Monday. Reports suggest that the attack was carried out by a female sex worker whom he had invited to his home.
According to sources, the incident occurred around 5:32 AM. The police report indicates that a friend of the deceased received a distressing phone call from another acquaintance regarding the violent assault.
Lagos State Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the details of the incident, stating, “The suspect, Joy Kelvin, allegedly stabbed Okafor during their overnight encounter.” After sustaining injuries from the attack, Okafor was rushed to the General Hospital in Marina, Lagos; unfortunately, he was declared dead upon arrival by the attending physician.
Hundeyin further explained, “Detectives from the Ilasan Division were alerted at approximately 7:20 AM and quickly arrived at the scene to gather evidence, capturing photographs and conducting preliminary inquiries. The body has since been transferred to the General Hospital Morgue in Yaba for preservation and autopsy.”
The suspect, identified as Joy Kelvin, is currently in police custody, and efforts are being made to inform the family of the deceased. A comprehensive investigation is underway to uncover the full details surrounding this tragic incident.
