Sex Worker Arrested for Fatal Stabbing Over N200 Debt in Yola

In a tragic incident in Yola, Adamawa State, a 32-year-old sex worker named Riyanatu Musa has been taken into custody by police in connection with the stabbing death of a barman, Yohanna Musa. The altercation reportedly stemmed from a N200 debt related to liquor that Riyanatu had purchased from the deceased.

Suleiman Nguroje, spokesperson for the Adamawa Police Command, confirmed the details in a statement released on Friday. According to the report, Riyanatu stabbed Yohanna in the chest during a confrontation that escalated over the outstanding balance.

Riyanatu reportedly admitted to the crime, explaining that she had obtained two types of alcohol, including a dry gin known as ‘big ben’ and another referred to as ‘Yahoo.’ She was supposed to settle the N200 balance the following day after paying off an earlier debt of N1,500. Tensions flared, leading to the physical fight in which she fatally injured him.

In response to the incident, state Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, has initiated a thorough investigation and cautioned the public against taking justice into their own hands.
