Panic as Corpse with Missing Organs Discovered In Port Harcourt
Pandemonium Erupts at Ikoku Market After Discovery of Corpse with Machete Cuts

Port Harcourt City, Rivers State – Chaos ensued at the bustling Ikoku Market on Saturday morning when vendors arrived to find a body bearing multiple machete wounds. The Rivers State Police Command confirmed the grim discovery, suggesting preliminary findings indicate the victim was well-known for his criminal activities and might have been lynched by the local community.

Witnesses reported striking details about the deceased male, asserting that his body had been mutilated, with significant organs removed, including his private parts, which has led to speculation that the killing may have been ritualistic in nature. The lifeless body was found abandoned outside a bank at Ayama Junction on Olu-Obasanjo Road.

An eyewitness, who prefers to be named simply as Emeka and operates a shop in Ikoku Market, described further horror, stating that the victim’s stomach had been cut open and his intestines were reportedly missing. Despite the gruesome scene, the identity of the deceased remains unknown as onlookers gathered to witness the shocking incident.

In response to the uproar, Grace Iringe-Koko, the Public Relations Officer for the Rivers State Police Command, made a statement addressing the situation. She acknowledged that the victim had a notorious reputation in the vicinity and refuted claims regarding the removal of vital organs, insisting that all of the victim’s organs were accounted for.

Iringe-Koko detailed the sequence of events, noting, “On November 9, 2024, at approximately 10:30 AM, the Rivers State Police Command was alerted to an unidentified corpse located near Ayama Junction/Ikokwu Spare Parts Market along Olu-Obasanjo Road, Port Harcourt. Our officers responded promptly to the scene.” The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
