The incident occurred on Monday when terrorists attempted to cross into Mashegu and Wushishi Local Government Areas.
According to sources, the bandits engaged soldiers in a fierce gun battle, resulting in the injuries and the death of one attacker. The wounded soldiers are receiving treatment at IBB Specialist Hospital in Minna.
Rafi Local Government Council Chairman, Alhaji Ayuba Usman Katako, confirmed the incident and urged communities to provide support and useful information to security agencies to combat the attackers.
This attack comes just two months after a similar ambush in Shiroro Local Government Area claimed the lives of two officers and four soldiers.
